Earnings season is in full swing now and the results thus far have been far from good. This morning we got results from 3M, GE, JNJ, and Proctor & Gamble. While price increases have driven modest revenue growth in the healthcare names, unit sales are flat and the industrial earnings were outright terrible. This comes after last week's lackluster bank earnings. Meanwhile the stock market selloff in China has now gotten so bad that the Chinese Govt is considering ordering Chinese Govt-Sponsored Enterprises to directly intervene and buy stocks to support asset valuations.
