Not ALL investments are made in the midst of a yearlong downtrend. Many alternative investments, including mortgage-backed funds and asset-backed lending, outperformed traditional assets such as the S&P 500.
We brought on Stephen Patterson, Director of Client Relations at KeyCity Capital in Dallas, to talk more about “alt” investing. The financial service company Stephen works for specializes in the alternative investment space, and helped its clients achieve a positive-return 2022 despite economic turmoil in most markets.
Stephen described alts as investment opportunities outside of Wall Street. In fact, alts are typically non-correlated with the real estate and stock market. However, that’s not to say they don’t intertwine. Stephen brought up ways alts can produce safe and consistent yields off the reliability of real estate, without having to buy a piece of property or deal with renters.
In the fifth episode of Inside Money, Stephen peels back the curtain on alternative investing, a world that’s gained increasing popularity lately. He busts myths about the space (it’s not categorically risky!), and sheds light on how you can leverage it for steady investment gains.
